My Mom and Print Mixing

What is Print Mixing? The popular Spring and Summer trend that makes me happy remember?!The whole point is to mix patterns and textures in a careless way that stills aesthetic to the eye. 

Even when I love this trend, I personally think it is not the easiest to wear and there so many ways you can go super wrong. I came to this conclusion not too long ago when my family was visiting me. My mom, my sister and I were shopping at the mall..I could not remember when was the last time the 3 of us when shopping together and I kind of want to say 2004 when I was looking for my wedding dress?...maybe... So while I was being super happy on the other hand I was genuinely making an effort to at least get comfortable with this new trend... in other words I was at Forever 21 trying all the florals, stripes and dots my childless arm could bear...However every time I step out of the dressing room proved to be challenging to my bladder.

LOL...Needless to say I didn't buy any florals that day!

Easter Fashion for Kids {Moda de Pascua para Niños}

 What are your kids wearing this Easter? We are taking family pictures this Easter and I am giving a lot of thought on what my kids are wearing this year. This is my thinking process...10% is color and prints and the other 90% goes to what could they wear that is cute, comfortable and would last clean for at least an hour??... Is it only my kids the only ones that act like they have ants in their pants anytime a camera is close?

Que es lo que tus hijos se vestiran para celebrar Pascua? En estas fechas estaremos tomando nuestras fotos familiares asi que estoy pensando mucho en que se pondran mis hijos este año. Practicamente asi es como se dividen mis preocupaciones 10% en que colores y gravados y el 90% me preocupa el que puedan vestir que sea lindo comodo y mas importante que dure limpio por al menos una hora! Seran solo mis hijos los que actuan como si trajeran hormias en los pantalones cada ves que les ponen una camara enfrente?

Color Skinny Jeans {Skinny Jeans de Colores}

Do you know what I really- really want lately?

Saben de lo que traigo muchas ganas ultimamente?

These would make color blocking super easy! 

 

I am kind of dying for a pair of them... I heard Forever 21 is a good place to start and just in case you feel charitable I would like them in yellow, red and cobalt blue...plus my birthday is coming soon and this is all I am asking for! Either that or the big black composter from Costco  :)

Boyfriend Jeans {Pantalones/Jeans del Novio}

Here is the look for the weekend ladies! Boyfriend Jeans 

It is basically the opposite of skinny jeans (a personal favorite!) They are meant to look loose and relaxed. This trend started appearing around Su 09 but still makes streets appearance among celebrities. Apparently a favorite for airport and mama's with kids days. 

 Funny confession:

 Around high School I used to have a friend who borrowed MY boyfriend jeans! Yes, she would literally would be wearying "My boyfriend's Jeans" I never told anyone but I used to be very jealous of that...I am kind of petite so I could never wear any boy's jeans unless we are talking about my 10 years old little cousin's or me having wardrobe malfunctions! 

 Another confession: (wow! I am really opening today no?) I never try this look and it is not one of my favorites either...you know! one of many high school's traumas (read above!) ha!

 But I must admit it is very tempting to try it for a day to the park with the kids or a lazy Saturday morning...

 Who knows! I may call my cousin today! (Just kidding he's is like 21 now..Bummer!)

 And by the way I love this look on my sister, she rocks boys jeans!

Aqui esta el look del fin de semana guapas! 

Boyfriend Jeans o Jeans del Novio. Basicamente es lo opesto a los skinny jeans (personalmente mis favoritos!) Se supone que se deben ver un poco sueltos y relajados. Esta tendencia empezo a verse en el Verano 09 pero aun hace sus apariciones de ves en cuando en las celebridades y es aparentemente un favorito para los aeropuertos o los dias con los hijos.

Una confesión divertida:
Alrededor de la escuela preparatoria yo solía tener una amiga que le pedia prestado A MI NOVIO en aquel entonces sus jeans...Sí, ella literalmente se ponia "MI boyfriend's jeans" Nunca le dije a nadie pero esto me ponia celosa, parte ella parte los jeans ... yo soy un poco petite por lo que no podía usar los pantalones de cualquier muchacho a menos que estemos hablando de mi primo de 8 años o yo tener un mal funcionamiento de vestuario al caminar!

 Otra confesión: (Wow! Estoy realmente abriendome hoy en día no?) Nunca he intentado este tipo de jeans ... ya sabes! uno de mis muchos traumas de la escuela (leer arriba!) ja ja ja! Pero debo admitir que es muy tentador para un día al parque con los niños o un sábado relajadito por la mañana...

¡Quién sabe! Talvez y llamo a mi primo hoy! (Mentira!el ya tiene como 20 ahora ..! Ni modo!)

Y, por cierto que este look me encanta en mi hermana! She rocks boyfriend jeans!

If you are not aware the situation in Syria is worsening by the minute. It is Horrific the situation that men, women and children are living in some of the Sunni Muslims cities. Their own government is bombarding them. They are trap with literally no way to run. They lack food (many of the main sources of food were provided by the government, now their enemy), they don't have medical attention and men and kids are dying when an easy surgery and oxygen could have saved their lives.  The UN and world are waiting to interfered for way too many reason some wise and some very stupid. What they are asking to the al-Assad regimen is to give a two hrs cease of fire everyday. So ambulance and medical equipment can get there safely and people can go out to the streets and look for food or flee to "safest" ground. Apparently there is not much to do until the "rebels" either step down or are join by the middle class, but for now this is what I am praying for: two hours of peace and safety for them, please join me on this pray...and please keep watching, they are literally defending themselves and families  with  hunting guns, laptops and video cameras, they wan the world to see please don't ignore.

Si no es que ya lo saben la situación en Siria se está agravando cada minuto. Es terrible la situación que los hombres, mujeres y niños que viven en algunas de las ciudades sunitas musulmanes estan viviendo. Su propio gobierno les está bombardeando. Se encuentran atrapados, literalmente, no hay panera de salir de su ciudad. Ellos carecen de la alimentación (muchas de las principales fuentes de alimentos eran proporcionados por el gobierno, ahora su enemigo), no tienen atención médica y los hombres y los niños se están muriendo cuando tan solo una operación fácil y el oxígeno podrían haber salvado sus vidas. La ONU y el mundo están esperando para actuar por demasiados razones algunas sabias y algunas politicamente estúpidas. Lo que están pidiendo ahora es que el régimen de al-Assad, de unas dos horas de cese de fuego todos los días. Así ambulanciasa y equipos médicos pueden llegar de forma segura y la gente puede salir a las calles y buscar comida o huir a un lugar "más seguro". Al parecer no hay mucho que hacer hasta que los "rebeldes" dimitan o la clase media se les una para poder saber que hacer, pero por ahora esto es por lo que estoy orando por: dos horas de paz y seguridad para ellos, por favor, únase a mí en esta oración. .. y por favor sigan viendo y atentos a esto, que ellos literalmente se defienden a sí mismos y sus familias, con armas de caza, laptops (ordenadores portátiles) y cámaras de vídeo, por favor no ignores.

Western Native Inspired Fashion {Moda Inspirada Estilo Nativo Americano/ Western}

 From feathers to fringe boots and bags, Western Inspired Fashion ...have always had a fashion influence every year (Some How). Last Fall(11) was the year where prints with native inspired motifs made its appearance and so it looks like we will be seeing a little more of that thru this year!

De las plumas en el cabello y/o accesesorios a las botas y bolsos de flecos (barbitas), moda inspirada al estilo Nativo Americano... siempre ha tenido una influencia en la moda cada año (de alguna manera). Últimamente fue el Otoño11, ese fue el año en el que los grabados con motivos inspirados por nativos hizo su aparición y al parecer veremos un poco más de eso a través de este año! Me encanta!

What is Color Blocking {Que es el Bloqueo de Color?

Así que ... algunas personas lo llaman una reaparición algunos dijeron que es la nueva tendencia y yo opino que ha estado aquí durante al menos 2 décadas. Yo lo he estado haciendo sin saberlo y estoy segura que ustedes también. Pero ...Qué es el Bloqueo de Color? (o Color Block) el bloqueo es el "nuevo" look y la más reciente tendencia anunciada para el otoño de 2011, pero también se prevé para el verano de 2012. Se lograr básicamente combinando dos o más colores brillantes... pero No como en los años 80! Aquí está la diferencia, en lugar de usar una blusa colorida y pantalones de mezclilla lavados, te pones una camiseta/top de color solido con un color pantalones/falda diferente. Suena fácil? .. ¡Lo es!

Realmente no hay una regla para eso, pero hay algunas cosas que creo debes tener en cuenta mientras creas este look. 

1. Ten en cuenta: No se trata de la cantidad de colores que puede usar al mismo tiempo! En su lugar empieza con 3 o 4 colores * hasta que sientas que has dominado esta tecnica.
2. Accesorios * cuentan! Zapatos, bolso, joyas, maquillaje, incluso los cargos. Así que pensar en ellos mientras que se están preparando.
3. Si no estás segura de lo que estás haciendo siempre se puede empezar con los neutrales y pensar en los otros colores como un "pop" de color.
4. Tenga cuidado de añadir texturas y estampados, lo más fácil es colores sólidos ya que esta tendencia se caracteriza por un aspecto limpio y simple.

OK. So... some people call it a comeback some said is the newest trend and I say it's been here for at least 2 decades or so. I have been doing this without knowing it and I am sure you have too. But...

What is Color Blocking? color blocking is the "newest" look and most current trend announce by Fall 2011 but also anticipated for Summer 2012. Its achieve by basically combining two or more bright colors (very bright colors)... no like in the 80's though! Here is the difference, instead of wearing a colorful blouse and washed denims, you wear a color top with a color pants/skirt. Sounds easy right? ..It is!

There is not really a rule for it,but there are some things you should have in mind while color blocking (I think!).

1. Be aware:This is not about how many colors you can wear at the same time! Instead start with 3 or 4 colors* until you feel like you have mastered this trend.

2. Accessories* count! Shoes, purse, jewelery, even make up counts. So think about them while you are getting ready.

3. If you are not sure what you are doing you can always start with neutrals and think about your other colors like a "pop" of color.

4. Be careful adding textures and prints, the easiest is solid colors since this trend characterized by a clean and simple look.

Why Does Everyone Wears Red on Valentine's Day? {Porque Todos se Visten de Rojo el dia de San Valentin?}

So I am not a big fan Ok I am completely against wearing red on Valentine's day because, besides blending with all the decorations and possibly matching everyone else in the room... well, I think its a little bit too cheesy ...for me. Don't hate me!! I know we all do it (even me!) But against all my ideas about red and valentine's there seems to be... after all! ..a good reason to wear red on Valentine's day. According to studies by the university of Rochester the color red enhances men's attraction to women, it makes them feel more amorous and hear this! ... it could actually make your guy spend more money on your date. Ha!! I didn't see that one coming..that explains a lot!! Ha! Now you know what color I will be wearing on Valentine's!

{No soy una gran fanatica de vestir de rojo en el dia de San Valentin. Entre muchas otras de "mis razones" aparte de camuflagiarte con la decoracion y coinsidir con todas las personas en la misma habitacion, usualmente encuentro el vestir de rojo en este dia un poco ....hmmm.... cursi digamos. No me odien!! yo se que todos a un punto lo hemos hecho. Sinembargo y encontra de todo lo que yo pensaba hay una muy buena razon por la cual vestirse de rojo en el dia de los enamorados, pues segun estudios por la universidad de Rochester, se ha encontrado que los hombres encuentran mas atractivas a las mujeres vestidas de rojo, tambien son mas amorosos y escuchen bien!...estan dispuestos a gastar mas dinero en una cita con ella! No se esperaban esa verdad? ...Eso lo explica todo... jajajaja... bueno ya saben de que color me vestire este 14 de Febrero..Yep!

Oh and guys the same goes for you...

Mini Fashion {Mini Moda}

Do you have a fashionista under your roof? Yesterday we went to a birthday party of one of Happiness' friends. I was surprised went she decided to wear her dinosaur pajamas to the party (before she couldn't  "find" a skirt to wear!...was this a complot?). Anyways, if you know her you would be surprise too, this girl changes 5 times a day (at least), and to be honest she is been doing color blocking since she was 18 months old. I figured if I bought her clothes of similar color whatever she picks would kin-da match right? But she is too smart, she figures a way to un-match anything anyways. It's been long since I gave up on dressing my daughter "correctly" and even though this makes a chaotic laundry day for me, I fallow my mom's advice and let her deal with her own fashion or unfahion days.... she is a woman after all. 

.....and yes, she wore her dinosaur pajamas to the party!

{¿Tienes una fashionista bajo tu techo? Ayer fuimos a una fiesta de cumpleaños de un amigita de Happiness". Me sorprendió cuando me dijo que se pondria su pijama de dinosaurios para ir a la fiesta (despues de que no pudiera "encontrar" una falda para usar! ... Se trataria de un complot?). Si la conocerias te sorprenderia también, esta chica se cambia cinco veces al día (al menos), y para ser honestos ha estado haciendo bloqueo de colores (color blocking) desde los 18 meses de edad. Pensé que si le compraba ropa de color similar lo que ella escogiera considiria...verdad? Pero ella es demasiado inteligente y de una u otra manera de todos modos nada combina. Ha sido mucho tiempo desde que renuncie a vestir a mi hija "correctamente" y aunque esto hace de mi lavandería un día caótico sigo el consejo de mi mamá y la dejó lidiar a ella misma con sus dias de moda o desmoda.. es una mujer, después de todo!
..... y sí, ella vistio su pijama de dinosaurios a la fiesta!}

Emerald Dress...my obsession part II {Vestido Verde Esmeralda....mi obsesion parte II}

At last!!

Remember my obsession? 

All I wanted this year is to get a hold of an emerald green dress, and two weeks ago while I was looking for some winter shoes for Mati I found  this dress (minus 40% off) and I bought it of course!!

I will be wearing this the whole weekend...even if I go ice skating!! I have a feeling this will turn into my little black dress!

Lo que mas he querido este ano es un vestido verde esmeralda, hace dos semanas atras mientras buscaba zapatos de invierno para Mati me encontre on este y tenia el 40% menos! Claro que lo compre!! Este fin lo estrenare aun si vamos a patinar en hielo!! Tengo la sospecha que este sera mi pequenio vestido negro!

What you Need to Know About Color Tights {Lo que Necesitas Saber Acerca de las Medias/Mallas de Color}

Do you remember those white lacey white tights we used to wear for weddings/Sunday best? and what about those red ones you would always wear with your red dress (of course!)
And while we still getting those 80'/90's fashion flashbacks guess what?
...they are back!
And this time in many more new and exciting colors,
but don't be fool they have changed...

{¿Te acuerdas de esas medias/mallas blancas de encaje que usabas para las bodas o los Domingos? y ¿qué paso con las rojas que usabamos siempre con el vestido rojo (¡por supuesto!)
Y mientras siguen pasando por su mente imagenes de la moda de los 80's 90's ¿adivinen qué?
... que están de vuelta!
Y esta vez, en muchos más colores nuevos y emocionantes,
pero no se dejen engañar por que estas han cambiado...}

 

What you need to know about Color tights:

1.They're not suppose to match what you are wearing.
2.You don't only get to wear them on Sunday or at yours aunt's weeding (If you still have unwedded aunts) but you can wear them at almost any occasion.
3. Solid color is the new neutral... in other words you don't treat print/pattern tights (even if they are colorful) like you would a solid color. 
4.Be careful if you are matching the shoe to the color of your tights, there is not really a no-no on this... wait I might say white on this one right? If you want to play it safe brown,black,grays and dark blue might be a good start.
5. There are many colors for every taste from light grays to mustard yellow. If you are afraid of color I would recommend  a gray, or a blue to start with; however, this is not a trend to be shy with!
6. Last and maybe the most important...they are suppose to be sexy! ...yep! didn't see that one coming uh?

So know that you know, would you wear them?

Lo que necesitas saber acerca de las medias/mallas a color:

1.No necesariamente tiene que coincidir con lo que llevas puesto.
2.No sólo las puedes usar los domingo o en la boda de tu tia, (Si todavía tienes tías sin casar!) pero se pueden usar en casi cualquier ocasión.
3. Color sólido es el nuevo neutral ... en otras palabras,  no trates las medias/mallas con disenios, de colores y/o patrones (incluso si son de colores) como si fuera un solo color sólido.
4.Cuidado si el zapato ara juego con el color de tus medias, no hay realmente un no-no en esto ... bueno puediera decir blanco talves? Si quieres ir a lo seguro marrón, negro, gris y azul oscuro puede ser un buen comienzo.
5. Hay muchos colores para todos los gustos desde gris claro hasta amarillo mostaza. Pero si tienes un poco de miedo al color yo recomendaría un gris o un color azul para empezar, sin embargo, esto no es una tendencia para ser timido!
6. Última y quizás la más importante ... se supone que debe ser sexy! ... sí! no vieron venir esta uh?

Emerald Green Everywhere {Verde Esmeralda de Moda}

Lately I been obsess with this gorgeous green, which apparently everyone is using:

Kind of sad the only emerald thing in my closet right now is something like this!
