Before and After (Thrifty) TV Console
Although I prefer "creative"
...frugal may be one of the adjectives that describes me.
We were in need of a new TV console with lots of storage
and I spy this old chests at a little thrift store on the side of the road,
I went inside and a lower price closed the deal.
I got a quarter of gray oil paint and that did the trick
... a new home for my TV (and lots of storage)
for less than $50!
Good day friends...
and thank you for visiting and catching up with my blog!

DIY Wall Poster
It's been long since I do a DIY and I was thinking maybe I can show you how to do a cute poster for your home
...Don't you love all the Etsy posters??
My friend and I were in the etsy business like a year ago or so.......two un-wean babies, a toddler with an attitude, and two church
callings latter and we abandoned the ship
...with the hope of doing it
again. {It was fun!}
I have some friends with etsy shops that I would love for u to meet (perhaps another day)... and for that n more..
I am a big etsy/ hand-made supported
in other words buy etsy!!
And after my awkward "all over the place" post today here it is:
...
DIY How to Make your Own Etsy Poster
1.Print the phrase you want on regular paper (tape it together)2. Find a sunny window n tape it to the glass (so it won't move)
3. Put the "nice" paper on top, I used watercolor paper since I was using watercolors to fill in the letters (you can also use markers)
4. Trace it with a sharpie, (fill in letters optional)
5. Fill in letters with watercolors/markers, etc
LISTO!!!
Have Fun People!
P.S Dear C do you remember when we used to do all-nighters and 2 hrs trips to that ONE store?? :-)

My $1 Comforter {Mi Edredon de Un Dolar}
I thrift an old sheet for a $1 and guess what I did with it?
...A new comforter!!
I found it underneath some old star wars sheets (very tempting) and I immediately love the flowery pattern and colors. It reminded me of the first dress (hand made) Roberto bought for Happiness and a set of sheets my grandma had...plus it was perfect for Happiness room.
The sheet might had been a king size because folded in half gave me a perfect twin size. I sew the edges together (only 3 sides) and left the bottom part open, I attached 6 ribbons to close it. When done I used this comforter from ikea (I already had) and voila!
Did I mention it was only $1!!
Mensione que solo me costo $1 dollar?!! }

How to Refashion Kids Shoes {Dales Nueva Vida a Los Zapatos de tus Hijos}
Today Happiness will show you how to give your old shoes a second third life. It's super easy!!
We found this shoes at a thrift store a few months ago, they were in "like new conditions" but now after months of use and hard play they were looking old and damaged that were screaming facelift!! This is a very easy trick to refashion kids shoes. {Hoy Happiness les va a enseniar como darles vida a un par de zapatos viejos. Es super facil! Encontramos estos zapatos en un bazar de segunda mano, hace algunos meses atras. Estaban en muy buenas condiciones (en ese entonces) pero ahora se empezaban a ver viejos y gastados que ya gritaban facelift!}
1. Paint with Acrylic paint (only damaged parts),I used Martha Stewart metallic paint. {Primero pinta las puntas gastadas y los rayones con pintura acrylica que mejor vaya con el tono de los zapatos.}
2.Tape the tip of the shoes and apply mod podge. {Enreda cinta de pintor o masking tape alrededor de la punta y pon le pegamento para manualidades/blanco.}
3. Put the glitter in a container wide enough to dip your shoes. {Pon la brillantina/glitter en un contenedor lo suficiente ancho para meter la punta de los zapatos.}
4.Dip you shoes {Mete la punta de los zapatos en la brillantina}
5. Clean the edges and any excess then let them dry {Limpia las orillas y cualquier exceso y dejalos secar.}
and Voila !! you got yourself a new pair!
Did you see that? I am training my daughter to be the next Martha!

Resize Lumberjack shirt and Pearls {Camisa de Leñador y Perlas}
Yesterday I went to an artist lecture by Nora Halpern (love her!) It was nice and weird to be on campus again among young students and artist... I was even called "older" can you believe it? Even the alarm people keep asking for my parents when I open the door!! pff! :) Anyways!
Infront of me was this young girl with a lumberjack shirt on and she also was wering this very cute and delicate pearl earings I thought it was a very smart balance of masculine and feminine.
I also found this very clever girl who got a one dollar man's lumberjack and completely transformed it into chic.
Have a nice weekend!
Ayer asisti a una conferencia para artistas por Nora Halpern. Fue bonito y raro estar en el campus una vez más entre estudiantes y jovenes artistas ... Me llamaron incluso "mayor" ...Pff!
