My $1 Comforter {Mi Edredon de Un Dolar}

I thrift an old sheet for a $1 and guess what I did with it?

...A new comforter!!

I found it underneath some old star wars sheets (very tempting) and I immediately love the flowery pattern and colors. It reminded me of the first dress (hand made) Roberto bought for Happiness and a set of sheets my grandma had...plus it was perfect for Happiness room. 

The sheet might had been a king size because folded in half gave me a perfect twin size. I sew the edges together (only 3 sides) and left the bottom part open, I attached 6 ribbons to close it. When done I used this comforter from ikea (I already had) and voila! 

Did I mention it was only $1!!

{Adivina que fue lo que hice con una sabana vieja que encontre en un bazar de segunda mano?

...Un nuevo edredon!

Encontre el tesoro debajo de unas sabanas de star wars (que medio me estaban tentando) y de inmediato me encantaron por que me recordaron la tela del primer vestido hecho a mano que Roberto le regalo a Happiness y tambien unas sabanas que tenia mi abuela. Aparte que eran perfectas para el cuarto de Happiness tambien! 

La sabana debio haber side medida king por que al doblarla por la mitad daba la medida perfecta de una cama twin. Uni y cosi las orillas juntas (solo por 3 lados) y deje la orilla a los pies abierta (para meter el relleno y tambien facilitar el lavado) solo le agrege 6 listones para de ese modo cerrarlo, use este relleno de ikea que ya tenia y voila!! 

Mensione que solo me costo $1 dollar?!! }

Unconventional Light Fixtures {Lamparas creativas y anti convencionales}

I have been looking for a light fixture for Mati's room for months and I haven't found one that I like and that is also ease on my wallet so I start looking for other ideas and I found all of these very creative unconventional light fixture... my favorite is the globes!

He estado buscando una lámpara para la habitación de Matí por meses y no he encontrado uno que me guste y que también sea compatible con la billetera, así que empeze a buscar otras ideas y me encontré con todas estas luminarias/lamparas muy creativas y no convencionales ... mi favorito es el de los globos!

I like it! I might try it ...how hard can this be?  
Any electricians against it? :) 

Me gusta! Podría intentarlo ... que tan difícil puede ser esto?

DIY How to make your own Profile Silhuette in 4 simple steps [Como hacer tu propia Silueta de Perfil en 4 simples pasos]

Step 1.

After taking a picture, open it on your image editor (paint,Photoshop,Microsoft picture,etc) and zoom in (or out) until you have the size you want for you frame (I did mine at 105%). 

 Paso 1.

Abre tu foto en cualquier programa para editar fotos (paint,Photoshop,Microsoft picture,etc) y el zoom dentro o fuera hasta que tenga el tamaño que desee para tu marco (yo la hice a 105%).

 Step 2.

Place a white paper over the image (screen) and trace it carefully with a pencil.

 Paso 2.

Coloca una hoja de papel blanco sobre la imagen (monitor) y trasa con cuidado la imagen usando un lápiz.

Step 3.

Cut the white paper and place it in the opposite direction of how you wanted (if I want my silhouette facing left, then trace it facing right). Trace it unto the black paper.

 Paso 3.

Corta el papel blanco y ponlo sobre el papel negro para trasarlo otra ves. Colocalo en la dirección opuesta de la que deseas (si quiero que mi silueta este viendo a la izquierda, la voy a trazar viendo a la derecha).

Cut and frame!

Profile Silhouttes [Siluetas de Perfil]

The other day we were watching a Shirley Temple movie (my 3yrs old likes them) I spy some profile silhouette/shadows and was surprise how old this decoration idea was ..19th century or so? and still pretty popular I have ours of course! but this week I am helping a friend do one for her cute little girl bedroom and I thought of posting some so you would want one too! I used a pretty easy technique cut and paste type (not developing or enlargements) and they are super cheap... in fact you can make one today all you need is some nice paper and an unused frame! 

I will be posting the steps tomorrow!!

El otro día estábamos viendo una película de Shirley Temple (a mi nina de 3 años de edad le gusta) En la pelicula vi algunas siluetas de perfil / sombras y me sorprendio lo antigua que es esta idea... desde el siglo 19 .. o algo así? y sigue siendo bastante popular! por supuesto que yo tengo las mias! pero esta semana estoy ayudando a una amiga a hacer una para el cuarto de su niña y pensé en publicar algunos por los que quisieran uno! He utilizado una técnica de corte muy sencillo (no revelar o ampliaciones) y son super baratas ... de hecho, puedes hacer una hoy mismo todo lo que necesita es un buen papel y un marco!

Estare publicando los pasos para hacerlo mañana!

Siluetas de Animales [Animal Silhouettes]

 Como decorar tus paredes con siluetas de animales por menos de 10$. Como parte de la decoracion del cuarto de Mati estoy haciendo un cuadro parecido a estos, es una manera facil y barata de agregar personalidad a los cuartos de los ninios sin gastar mucho dinero. Lo unico que necesitas es un marco, pintura y papel de color (talves ya lo tienes todo!). How to decorate your walls with animal silhouettes for less than $10. As part of the decoration for Mati's room, I am doing an animal picture like these ones, its an easy and very inexpensive way to add personality to a kid's room without spending much money. All you need is a frame, paint and colored paper (you may have all you need already!). For steps on how to do check back on Wednesday I will be uploading step by step photos just for you.
